| A Major 6th includes notes from four different pitch classes: the root, the major 3rd, perfect 5th, and major 6th. It uses the same pitch classes as a major triad but adds a fourth class, the major 6th. The chord symbol for a Major 6th is Ma6. Example: the G Ma6 chord specifies a chord whose root is G which uses notes drawn from the B, D and E pitch classes. Listen to four different C Ma6 chords. |
