Yep, Melonae was McLean's daughter. The tune is a very fast bebop melody. It's a 32 bar form AABA. The same convoluted eight bar melody is used over all three A sections and each ends with a phrase that sounds like the honking horn of a toy car. The B section is left open so the soloist can invent something new every time he reaches the bridge.
