Chord changes for Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Agua de beber". Key of B minor. The English translation of the title is "Water To Drink".
The conceit for the lyric is that her love is water and his heart is a flower that needs water to drink to bloom.
The tune starts with an 8 bar introduction that is repeated twice. The main melody is 24 bars long. Between statements of the main melody, one repetition of the intro is used as an interlude. After the last statement of the main melody, the intro is used as an outro.
The chords and melodic material used in the main melody seem to parallel those of Matt Dennis's Angel Eyes fairly closely before Jobim moves the tune in an entirely different direction.
