I'm looking for the name of the string bass player that played with the DUKE ELLINGTON band when they recorded SATIN DOLL. The song was written by Billy Strayhorn, Johnny Mercer, and Duke Ellington in1953. For you upright bass players out there, listen to this song as recorded by Ellington. But in order to appreciate the brilliance of this bass player, listen to it with a headset to be able to listen to how this guy walks that bass from high notes to low notes with such speed! Absolutely genius and incredible!
